What You Are Is Beautiful
Alas, where had it gone wrong?
To a world, I ever bemoan
My heart, deep with sorrow—
Yet an inquisitive spirit I owned
Sifting through the memories—
Adhered deep in misery—
To each of them I enthroned
My being felt empty—
Was not now a day to see—
Where things had gone wrong
Sobbing, as I look back upon—
A life, and a sweet, tender song
My belief of an endless time
Each day, now it’s moved on
Of a time in once I lived—
Only memories, what I relive—
And days, I no longer belong
During that last breath—
Everything placidly, peaceful
Peaceful, yet so very painful
I want you to remember one thing
The opportunity to love you—
I could not be more grateful—
and each minute—
Fateful and undeniably graceful
My heart you still have
Absolutely, undeniably thankful—
And what you are, is beautiful
To be abandoned behind in a world—
Where only our love ruled
So, I’ll wait here—
Wait with eternal patience
Peering back at each day since—
That I left and passed on
Now, I’ll keep watch for thee
