Together Alone

When I’d shed a tear
It was you that wiped it away
When I was sad
It was you to tell me it’s okay
When my demons would appear
It was you that they’d obey
—I needed you

When you were weary
It was in my arms that you could sleep
When you were sick
I’d give you care that you would need
When you had doubts
I’d remind you of your dreams
—We needed each other

Together we were
Together we are
Together we always will be

Throughout each year—
If there’s one thing that we’ve shown
We’re often at our best—
When we’re together alone
