Only At Sunset (My World)
I would watch the sunsets—
As often as I could
Helping me forget—
Or at least—
Wondering if I should
The sunsets were the only thing—
Something to remind me
When I was king—
Or so it seemed—
And you were my queen
During those days of wonder—
The two of us one
The spell we were under—
And how it felt—
It felt as if—
Life had just begun
Each sunset so splendid—
Cascading with pure grace
My heart would surrender—
And the only thing—
The only thing more beautiful—
Was your beautiful face
Many suns have now set—
Years of many now gone
Still never a single regret—
As I sit her alone—
Alone with you—
Proud to be the one you chose
I miss you
