I Let You Get Away

I Let You Get Away - Original Watercolor Painting

Board size 5x7 (overall framed size is approximately 7x9)

Why do I feel lost,
Clinging to memories,
When we had each other,
Now I’m just lonely,
And I remember the wind,
Your hair how it flowed,
Like a river so gently,
True love and it showed,
In the darkness of night,
And the taste of your kiss,
It all takes me back,
It’s this that I miss,
And I still hate myself,
After all of these years,
I should have done better,
Let me make myself clear,
That I was wrong,
In the choices I made,
And if you to come back,
I won’t stand in your way.

This is an original watercolor of a Flair Tulip with its petals opened wide.

As the watercolors started to dry, the vivid colors started to disappear into the paper. My happiness with the painting started to fade just as quickly as the colors did.

In order to bring out those radiant colors, I decided to mount the watercolor onto a wooden panel. After mounting the watercolor, I applied a few layers of high quality resin, and now the colors are more brilliant than ever.

I don’t typically use floater frames with my artwork, but since this painting ended up on a wooden panel, I knew a floater was a perfect fit. The hard work and extra time paid off in the end.
