Inseparable Souls

In this dark chamber filled with lonely silence
My senses register only the faintest sound
The quiet echo of your heartbeat I'm reminded
Often I recall the magnificent years we found
And now, too many days since you left me
Alone on earth, it's a pure hell I'm now bound
There's just not a way that I can be happy
When it should be me, lying there in the ground

With each sunrise brings a much lonelier evening
Believe me, I try my best, honestly I do
Each of our precious memories now a prisoner
The keys lost forever, that minute I lost you
Yet my mind yearns for a release no longer there
Saying goodbye to our dreams, all much too soon
Fighting the thoughts, insanity is just not a dare
I accomplish nothing, oh- damn this darkened room

To make my way back to you, it's all that I need to attain
This, I willfully do, as it would ease my wearied state
But nothing has been ordinary since that very fateful day
Every teardrop arrives early and is known too late to stay
The perfect plan though, yes- I’ve cleverly schemed its way
For my sweetheart’s there, under stone letters carefully engraved
And while others nod off now, this twilight will know thy name
Blankets of your soil I shall remove, and join you in the grave
