Dignity
A few more miles, and at home I shall be
With blood on thy hands
There, I left him, for all of the world to see
No, this wasn’t by chance
Although, by chance, and still it would be
I spoke to his spirit, through his pain intense
Words, not a one spoken
For fools and their folly, only they would pretend
Why now, it must be broken
Broken it has, for a soul of the not-so innocent
Taking from the world, a cause that was so lost
Peace of mind, never to know
Answers, I had them, and at any a cost
To regain thy dignity, I shall make it so
Thy dignity restored, or at least I had thought
The lonely nights, oh- too many to count
And for you, or did thee forget
Fragile, I was, there to be found
Were you not searching- you seemed so hellbent
Look, you won’t any further, as he’s no longer around
