Ariel

This winters eve, almost two years ago
An unfathomable lady, is a story now told
It was fast and hard, that I did fell
A miracle of nature, her name, Ariel

Remember I do, as if yesterday
Standing there hopeless, not a word I could say
It was then when I came, under her spell
To a being so charming, with a name, Ariel

A chance with her, I knew wasn't mine
We shared only this place, and the same time
As this would be, a grand story to tell
About a radiant beauty, whose name, Ariel

I discarded my dream, it couldn't come true
And taking the hints, as each were on cue
Oh- stories like this, they never end well
Walked away my beloved, by the name, Ariel

A chance encounter, it still haunts me now
Lost in perfection, all yet, and somehow
In days ever since, I've long lived the details
To find feelings were mutual, with she, Ariel

As spoken before, all just shy of two years
I misread the signals, and gave into fear
Separate lives now, with our moment derailed
An opportunity no longer, my lost love, Ariel

Was harmony ours, only hours of old know
Feelings I had, I just had no way to show
We both had the answers, as for the other we fell
Only the memories live now, of I, and Ariel
